What holds a city together?
In this week of City Lab, campers will explore the systems that support daily life, including roads, bridges, power grids, and water systems.
They’ll investigate how well-designed infrastructure can help cities become safer, more efficient, and more resilient. Campers will take on hands-on design challenges that address real-world issues such as climate adaptation, outdated public works, and access to resources.
Along the way, they’ll strengthen their problem-solving and collaboration skills while designing solutions that shape the cities of tomorrow.
Campers will learn to:
- Understand the role of infrastructure in supporting daily life
- Investigate challenges like climate resilience and aging systems
- Use art supplies and building materials to design and prototype solutions
- Learn how real-world examples in Atlanta and beyond are making communities better
- Practice teamwork and apply design thinking strategies
At the end of the week, parents and caregivers are invited for a showcase of the campers’ creations!
